Lilac (Syringa josee)

Planted my first lilac yesterday, taken advice, it's in full sun until around 2pm or thereafter.
It's a syringa josee, dwarf variety.
Pretty mauve pink flowers.
Deciduous.
Planted in a small bed in my postage stamp back garden.

The dwarf Lilacs are really useful for a smaller area....mine was planted a few years ago, but never seems to outgrow its place.Lovely tree fern in the background.

Very eye catching. Will look better every year.

I do love a lilac. I’ve had them in all three of my gardens. They can be a bit unreliable, but as long as you resist pruning them ( they tend to make lots of new non-flowering shoots if you do) they seem to do well. The dwarf ones are very useful.

Thank you Thrup, Meadowland, Bathgate and Karen.
Appreciate all your feedback, advice taken on board too :)
