Looks beautiful! I saw all the Jacarandas flowering there in the SF Bay Area when I was there a week ago.

My giant Jacaranda tree in the front yard is flowering right now. This is the latest I've ever seen it start to flower, the beginning of June.

Especially from Hayward to Fremont. That seems to be the zone of most planted. Did you use BART? That's the best way to see them like low blue clouds all over Hayward.

Actually, there's so many more planted in the Santa Clara Valley. They're used as street trees in San Jose. I did see a huge planting around south Fremont or Milpitas. I think they're planted way too close together, though. It was a long street planted with young ones which were flowering when I was there last week. I saw them off the 880 freeway.

I haven't been out to Santa Clara, ever. San Jose only and then much farther south like Gilroy.
I know an internet friend in Santa Clara planted a Celadine Plumeria in his raised brick planter in the front yard and it's done great...many more branches than a pot plant could do. About 4 or 5' in both directions.
I might chance one. Gophers are a worry..but since I now have a few potted I might give it a go. One less pot to water is always good.

Every time you and I get going..I want to run out and plant something tropical!

Oh wow! Santa Clara is a beautiful community! The weather is perfect and the soil is some the best in the world! Everything grows huge there because of the very rich, extremely deep (50 ft deep in some areas) alluvial soil.
