Love these! So happy to hear you cared for the bee. Sometimes they will eat a few drops of honey on the end of your finger too - so rewarding when they finally fly off isn't it? We need all the bees we can get.

Stera, I saw it half an hour later on the lawn, moving ever so slowly, so I put some sugary water on a saucer with a piece of kitchen roll dipped in and trailing. Surprised to see the Bee walk on the paper along to the water. Hope it did manage to fly off ...

Love Penstemons there's so many colours and last the whole season into winter ..

How long does a worker bee live?
"The average life expectancy of a worker bee is slightly different from that of the queen honey bee. Worker bees that are born during the summer season live for a period of about 6 to 7 weeks. On the other hand worker honey bees that are born during the autumn season end up living for a period of around 4 to 6 months."

I didn't know that...but it applies to hive bees and wild ones might be different.
