planted the rhus and shrubs, dug the frog pond to help this area become more welcoming.

think I may have lost their trust, Amy. I keep promising to fill the hole and raise the water level...but it's July and I'm still promising.

thanks 3d... this area was very dry at the crest of the slope. somehow I had to get some shade on it...so decided to try the rhus. It came from seed and is suckering up the hillside now. I just cut the suckers out as they emerge. I have a feeling that if I didn't we'd be lost in a rhus forest. lol...

Lol Lori let's hope you now don't get such a dry and hot spot with the shrubs and pond at least.

yes, 3d. now that you mention it I can see a difference in the perennials i've planted still more work to be done... it never ends... but this is a positive step and time will tell.
