I like this plant, but find the flower ends wilt in this hot weather in my dry soil. The one in the shade remains upstanding.

That's interesting. This plant is in semi shade, but I have also planted it in my new prairie bed which faces south with dry soil and is currently 'enjoying' temperatures of around 30C. So far, the veronicastrum seems unaffected

Sorry Andrew, my plant is Lysimachia ephemerum in the east facing border, very similar in looks.
