I think some of these are from seed which you kindly sent me. Notice the lobed leaves.

Yes Lori I kind of hoped some had made it into your lush garden .. I hope they produce more seed and multiply making a lovely big patch ....

I have quite a patch this season, Amy... They're growing in what used to be an old driveway. Time for a blog, methinks.

We have a village near the coast which has very long narrow passages between the old houses just the width of a concrete slab theres almost no soil between the slabs and wall but each year whole rows of hollyhocks grow up along the wall edges in most of the foot paths ,I love walking through them ,it proves they tolerable poor or very little soil ..

My sister lives in North-west Ontario and she sent me a whole large mailing envelope full of seed she gathered from a disused parking lot near downtown. Hottest place on the planet in summer, sun baked and dry, but like your passages the very place for hollyhocks! This was at almost the same time as you sent me seeds as well... they were carefully labelled the first season...but I soon lost track. I believe that the plants with the deeply lobed leaves are from the pack you sent me.
