Like Hollyhocks Lori and we have some which are supposed to be confined to one area as they get blown about in the wind, but of course they don't stay there! When I cut them back I take the stems up onto the field and just chuck them about. Some probably rot, some get eaten by mice or birds and some grow! They seem to like doing their own thing and like the Teasels (for the Goldfinches) grow where they want.

I love them, Julia! They're the weed, without being called a weed. every year I plant seed..the ones in the beds I'm trying to establish come up with everything else, but don't achieve the heights of those self planted (from greenhouse sweepings) on the chip limestone drive.
