Common Milkweed. Rather bland looking plant, but plays host to a myriad of wildlife including the Monarch Butterfly. It does eventually bloom.

Thanks Lori, I'm just trying to help the Monarch Butterflies. I swiped a few baby plants last year from a local estuary. I should have seed pods next season. Can't wait to see the puffs of fluff!

Wait til it blooms, BG. The sweet aroma of the flowers will change your mind, I predict. I have started a grove of plants... and this year's plants have produced a good crop of gourd shaped seed pods... the seeds are airborne puffs of fluff and so pretty when they fly on the breeze.
