Karen yes Need to plant it out this Autumn it is having a strange season about 2 months ago it shed about half it's needles then a couple of weeks later produced a lot more new ones ,now it appears to be loosing some again ,I have not let it dry out but being in a pot not easy to tell if it is having to much or to little .

I am having exactly the same with my Christmas tree in a pot Brian. In my case I think not enough.
