Always looks it’s best in the cooler months. Blooms throughout with a mass of tiny white flowers.

Karen, I have the label in my shed, but, I didn’t really have time this afternoon to have a look.. I realised when I took a few snaps, I needed to get on with my chores inside I had delayed! Garden was absolutely sodden today...
It’s a nice little plant though isn’t it?

I thought it was Alyssum, but the foliage is wrong. I'm not sure what it is Kate. Sorry!

I think that rings a bell, Karen. Flowers look right, maybe a variety of it?

It's so lush & green. Quite a contrast to my reds, yellows & browns. Do you ever get a true winter with snow & blizzards and Frosty the Snowman?

I’ll have to have a look in the shed after work later, Julia.
Bathgate, we don’t usually have a really hard, snowy winter nowadays.. we did have a long spell of snow from early November 2010 for a few months, getting to -17 in the morning ( cold for us!) I remember as it was my 40th! Sticks in your mind.
It would be lovely to have a white Christmas, but, I can’t recall the last time we had one??
We often have a last minute hit of bad weather in springtime, February or March. It only lasts a short spell.
Also, there can be hits of snow and blizzards in pockets of the UK over winter, which doesn’t last for weeks on end, often days.

Very frosty here today Bathgate. But I am loving this bright frosty weather! Long may it continue and the rain can stay away! :)

I remember growing up we always had a snowy Christmas - We would go ice skating right in my own backyard.

Where did you grow up Bathgate? Was it Bathgate? ;)

Long Island, New York. Bathgate? That's the street I lived on when going to college at Fordham University in the Bronx. It is a Jesuit University and I lived on Bathgate Avenue across the street. They were 4 of the best years of my life. It was like 'St. Elmo's Fire' and they were very transformational years for me. I became a real person. lol! Thank you for asking.

Its a town in West Lothian, Scotland. I had always assumed you had a family connection! Lol!

That’s right, Karen. Connections to Mary, Queen of Scots too. Bathgate in Scotland I mean ;)

LOL, remember that Island we spoke about once where the people speak Gaelic? That's where my people are from on my dad's side. My mom is from Poland. She came here to NY after WWII to start a new life after her world was blown to smithereens by the Germans.

The Polish people had a dreadful time through the war, from all sides really. I watched a Polish film called “ Warsaw 44 “ a couple of years ago. Detailed the uprising, it was very emotive and pretty shocking. I did prefer the fact that it was made in Poland by Polish crew/actors.

They were horrendous years but the people are resilient

I agree with you about that. I have known some lovely Poles & I have always had the greatest sympathy for them regarding WW2, especially being traded off to the Russians at the end. That was disgusting. They had fought so hard for us too & many never went back to Poland to live with the communists after the war.

They are very peaceful people and very loyal allies.

That's a pretty plant... added to GoYpedia.
