I've seen it once before down south many years ago.
how hardy is it Andrew? Does it sucker much?

An American site reckons it will take -15C, but Burncoose temper this by saying "best suited to warm, dry areas to give an adequate length of season for the flowers to fully develop." I've had it for ten years. The only thing I've noticed is that new growth in spring is very susceptible to cold weather, so I leave it fairly late before pruning it back. It doesn't sucker at all
