Amaryllis with bud about to open in kitchen 10th December 2019

It's wonderful watching these flowers open. This is the second year for me not to have one :(

Sorry about that Hywel! :( This one will open its flowers tomorrow! I have another 4 in different stages of growth, one is a tall scape but it will probably flower in time for Christmas. Another has a twisted scape & that one may flower for Christmas or before the end of the year. Two others are still buds in the necks of their bulbs but may well flower at the end of January 2020.

Actually this Amaryllis has opened its flowers today - a couple of days later than I anticipated!

The one with the twisted scape will also open its buds in a day or two. The scape has straightened out a bit now so it's not nearly as twisted as it was.

What colour is it ?

Red & white, the one that is in flower at the moment. As for the one with twisted stem I'm not sure at the moment but possibly the same, the marking however may be a little different. The backs of the petals at the moment are an off-white but I can't see their interiors.

All the Amaryllis have been grown from my own crosses using my own seeds which is the reason why none of them have names & I only describe them by their colour.
