I've watched it grow for 10 years now in this yard.

This looks like the Aloe ferox. I have one of those growing in my backyard, and hope it gets to this size. It must have been old when they planted it.

It was already a trunker by then Wylie. I have one..but its 3 years old?.maybe 4 already from a 3" pot. Its going to be a long time for it to grow tall.
Thanks Penny!

It looks great! I know Aloe ferox grows very tall. They're flowering here right now, also.

Thanks Andy ,Penny. Not many here. Or tree Aloe's in general. Mostly botanical garden plants even though they are very easy to grow and hardy for us.

That's good to know they are hardy Stan and easy growers.

I think they should remove that weedy Privet..but they are on a corner and it probably blocks a direct view to a window . I know I've done or grown plants to do that. Small bungalow lots forced "landscaping" !

Yes the privet is not complimenting to the Aloe . They should out a proper 6ft wooden fence up. I notice in America and Australia they use metal wire fencing which I personally think is not nice to the eye and gives no privacy is there a reason for metal wire fencing or just panels of metal out there Stan?.

Chain link is just a leftover 1950's California look. Dated and nobody really does that anymore.
At least if they spray painted it black,it wouldn't look so industrial.

Perhaps it s old programs I watch then Stan why I ve seen so many metal chain fencing out there. I know Austrakia still have metal when I ve looked on google earth. Yes a different colour would look better.
