not much snow in January...

thank you Kate! it was a dismal day and this youngster was on his own, digging for frozen apples, and trying to survive on bark and twigs. (my camera date setting is off by a month... it should read 01/12/2020. really should do something about that!)

Oh that’s heartbreaking isn’t it! Poor thing. I hope he managed to find some food eventually. I’ve just been googling pics of your area and the current weather. You’re right, it’s pretty to look at but not so much when you’re out in it trying to carry on with normal life!

they are very shy... it's hard to get a perfect shot. He's a youngster probably on his own for the first time. I can tell that by his antlers... as the bucks mature so does the majesty of their antlers. early spring is called the hunger moon so they prune trees and shrubs...but when the new perennials come up and the first green appears they finally get fat!
