These bulbs have come up and are flowering thanks to Hywel's advice re old wire shelf to stop squirrels digging them up. Thanks Hywel.

No Wylie they dig the bulbs up and "store" them somewhere else for winter. I have pots where walnuts have been buried to store and have sprouted and I have four small hazelnut trees from the same method.

I am glad there are no squirrels or moles around here. Will they dig them up once the foliage is up?
