A snapshot of my flowering viburnum in the front garden. It’s part of a mixed tall hedge consisting of laurel, osmanthus and box. Love the late winter, early spring white flowers which bring interest on the driech days.

Thanks Dd, it’s pretty big. We try to keep it at a height of 7 feet, otherwise it would just grow and grow. The laurel is level with it too. The osmanthus is slightly shorter as is the box. Just to give me a little shaped hedge at the side.

THAT'S SUPER KATE. IT;S WARMING UP WITH THE WEATHER SO ANY EARLY BEES OR BUTTERFLIES WILL HAVE SOME FOOD. IN FACT WE SAW A BUTTERFLY TWO DAYS AGO.

Thanks Thrup and Linda! I’m lucky it delivers every year! At least it’s one of my flowering shrubs that has bloomed 😁
I’ve seen several bees, but no butterflies yet. Looking forward to a garden filled with swarming things again, well, not the wasps!

Thanks Thrup, I think you’re probably right, the weather has really mixed things up hasn’t it! Timings of plants and bulbs flowering have been quite slow :-)

Well we be mainly had wet damp and windy weather not a lot of long term frost in most parts of the UK this winter and some plants need that coldness . I ve found if we get a spell of really cold frost some of my plants have had more flowers on them.

That makes sense, Thrup. I’d rather have a frosty morning than a wet, miserable one.
