Marginal water plant, Caltha palustris and Goldfish.

I put a netting cage over the pond to stop Crows taking the fish, but have taken it off this year to clean up the pond this year.
And I knocked the Caltha off the shelf into the depths, retrieved it though.

I removed a lot of the Duckweed. It is a semi useful weed as a filtrant, but can quickly cover the surface blocking out light (which helps prevent blanket weed growing)

Yes I ve seen Duckweed on ponds how it can cover yhe whole pond. Blanket weed is a pain I normally use that liquid straw stuff to stop it.

I scoop out the Duckweed with a net occasionally, but it returns, not a problem really and the water remains clear.

Wow, that's a bright red goldfish. I love them but in my garden, he wouldn't last 5 minutes...hawks! They love them too.
