It is an Oak Tree. They are probably around 70 plus years old, and we have loads of them, I try to build gardens around them, rather then chopping them down, but this creates shade gardens.

For you it is oaks, and for me it is native pines. Most of my neighbors have taken them all out. I try to leave as many as possible, but as you say that means shade.
