Another plant that by my memory has taken six years for its first bloom. King Protea.
This is early bloom..but in case something should happen,I took photos to post now.
Out of view I have another plant (Bombax) that I kept potted for 15 years at least and it would never bloom in a pot. I planted it in ground last year, and I think I see buds on it.
Some plants just wont bloom in pots..you have to plant then out.

A stunner Stan. We used Protea in floral arrangements when available but that one's huge (unless you have tiny hands) and got to be worth the wait.

Thats absolutely stunning Stan thats what we gardeners are known for our patients and I can see it was worth the wait I hope you think so too. It will likely flower now every year hopefully.

I'm surprised my hand is even that large! ha. As I remember it,I tried to keep the hand even with the flower. It's a big bloom. Either they are all like that or because the plant is putting all energy into the one first ever bloom, its "King" sized.
I was re potting before the photo..sorry about the dirt on my hands.
