Thanks! I adore this plant...It is a prodigeous seed producer...it is also perennial... and it has just started blooming. it is a lovely patch of blue...serves to cool the look of things...

Hi Spritzhenry... it is Lobelia siphilitica... a wild flower in the mid-West N.A., I have a pic posted of the clump form... I'm not familiar with the term Fan lobelia...? it likes moisture but can survive in dryness...blooms from late July until late September...and from one four inch pot I now have about five good sized clumps...lol. it is a favourite.
