Make the pie anyway but only give your OH the pastry. More gooseberries for you :-)

Cunning plan!

I've made gooseberry jam with mine, eating it already, delicious.

WE USED TO GROW GOOSEBERRIES WHEN WE HAD A LARGER GARDEN, AND I NEVER REALLY LIKED THEM, BUT ADDED APPLE TO THEM FOR A PIE AND THEY WEREN'T TOO BAD A TASTE. MY HUBBY LOVES THEM. LOTS OF TOPPING AND TAILING THERE ANDREW BEFORE COOKING THEM.

Yummy ,I use to grow the red variety not quite so sour ..

I grow both and try to freeze the red ones in separate packs from the green ones

I had never seen these fruits. What is the taste? Sweet? Sour?

Aleyna - they are a little sour, but cooked with sugar they make a good desert. A small boy once called them "cooked grapes" which is a fair representation

Thank you for the answer Andrew
