Thanks. I have to put shallow rooted plants here as the roots of C. leylandei are there. The Begonias are good as
they keep flowering all summer, tho' I know they are not a very popular plant generally.

Amy, it came from a council tip in the days when everything was just dumped anywhere. Nowadays it's all very organised. However, they do have a shop where
rescued items are available for purchase. Haven't ever seen any more of these jars though.

They had a shop at the council tip where we moved from Ff a good idea ,the tip here is weird you have to queue up and then push everything through a kind of plastic sheet hanging down goodness knows whats on the other side it seems to go down a long way , and because you have to queue it takes so long waiting for the person in front to finish .
I'm not surprised you haven't seen anymore of those lovely bottles I bet they were grabbed straight away , I wonder what they were used for ..

Sounds very weird. Our place is all organised into the different categories , wood, rubble, electrics etc. Two lanes of cars, but one doesn't often have to wait. I had 2 of these carboys, but I put a broom through one during
vigorous sweeping. It was a bigger, wider one & I think the glass had got a bit thin. I believe they were used for keeping acid in. Do you remember those big glass bottles one used to see in chemists? They filled them with red & green dyed water & displayed the in their windows.
