Just gearing up for its August display. Despite the weather - no rain for five weeks until yesterday and temperatures over 32C every day for the past week - this has received no additional water

That is a masterclass in design! You obviously take a lot of trouble to put the right plant in the right place. I am particularly impressed with the relative heights of the planting. Do you have to do much rejigging to achieve this result? And how many plants of each type do you put in? (Questions, questions...)

Anget - I did all my planning before putting the plants in. The whole border was replanted a couple of year ago, and I wrote two blogs about it:

As some of the plants were there before, they were already a good size, so only one of each was needed. There are five different heleniums, and a couple of crocosmias, to give some sort of repetition and cohesion

Like yours, my yellow variety Crocosmia are flowering profusely, however the leaves of Lucifer, which finished flowering earlier are brown, dry and brittle.
