Its common Kate to be outdoors and hear the hummers doing their smacking sound bird call. They also like when I hose down leaves on the taller shrubs...they and the tiny finches will take baths on the leaves and get a drink of water. Water in late summer is hard to find for birds in California so yards area true oasis to them.
For small yards I get the oasis like feeling with animals birds, even lizards all around.

This is the time of year all the Aloes start flowering. Your Euphoria looks great, also!

E.ammak never grows as dense as E.injens..and that can be a good thing. Lets light through to lower plants.

E. injens is a fast grower. E. ammak grows much slower. There’s a large, old one I pass on the way to work. It was cut back a few months ago. It was very dense and looked really good before it was cut back.
