So beautiful, K....the shape of the leaves look similar to those of the Cercis tree..heart shaped but a little smaller.

This bush is about 4' and is most beautiful in this time of year, Meadowland. It has very small leaves and more rounded than Cercis. Also it is very prickly.

Leaves on my "Forest pansy" Cercis are long gone and I will pray all winter for it to come back in spring. Its my 3rd or maybe even 4th one. It's very fussy in my area. Too much rain, I guess. But....I love it.

So pretty ... Iā€™m drawn to so many Japanese plants. Putting it optimistically on my wish list, and added to favourites!

Thank you Sheila. I agree that so many lovely plants come from Japan and that region.

Very attractive, great capture too! Love the bright pink against a darker, shadowed backdrop.

There are several bushes against the forest (we inherited) and you do not really notice them until autumn when they turn their leaves to brilliant colours.
Thank you for your compliment Kate.
