My Congo fig before it got cut way back. It’s a beautiful tree, but has so many golfball-sized figs which fall everywhere twice a year. It’s happening now. Photo taken Jan. 7, 2021.

Yes, it has a big prolific fruit which fall everywhere. It’s such a beautiful tree, though. It’s a tropical tree which cannot tolerate freezing temps.

It’s been very hot here the last three days. It was 91 (32 c) degrees here yesterday. It’s been feeling more like summer this week here in San Diego.

Right now about 71f. Came at a good time was tired of the gray and chill. By Monday we might be mid 70's.
A short early summer vacation.
A friend is sawing that big ash tree.. a needed pruning. It's hard to garden with no sun and my front yards were getting there with that big tree especially.

Santee was the hottest spot in the nation yesterday, at 96 degrees. 88 degrees in downtown SD! It tied the all time high for January. Today was slightly cooler tomorrow warmer before it cools down by the end of next week.
Ash trees provide lots of shade. I was so glad when one neighbor in the back cut their huge Mexican ash tree down a month ago. I was wishing for that tree to be cut down years ago. It blocked the view from many homes.

I googled Congo fig, Andy. I am amazed at the size of the fruits. The leaves are very lush and green up close. A lovely tree, it’d be a house plant here by the sounds of it.
