ha! I couldn't get too close... the smell was not apparent at first but it certainly was not attracting closer inspection. I've tried growing Shiitaki with mixed results. That was long ago and far away.. now I use my camera and thank my lucky stars I won't starve. lol...

thanks Kate. I have so many pics of fungi, ferns, mosses trees and shrubs in the wild and wildflowers... not exactly gardening fare. I should do a blog but time just isn't available at present. maybe later this month...
