Hi 3d: there are so many fungi and toadstools around our property that I'm a little over awed by them... some, like inky caps, can be eaten but only at a certain stage of their development...and others are extremely toxic but resemble edible mushrooms so much that it takes a real expert to know the difference. I'm no expert! so it appears that if I want edibles I'll have to buy innoculant and set up my own growing facility... not feeling the necessity, really.

Its lovely to have such a variety of fungi around your property edible or not Lori. I did nt know you could eat ink caps I too would nt have a clue .
Can nt say I blame you buying your own I would too.

I know by just reading on goy others have had trouble to with their photos your best asking on gardening questions how to get them back like others have enquired about.

It looks like Honey Fungus ,I only say that because we had some in our last garden ,I'm no expert either ...

Amazing pic, Lori. I just had some mushrooms growing around my little place yesterday…it’d been quite wet the day before and it rained all day.
I love to see them..wouldn’t risk eating them - organ failure!

yes, it's just not worth it. I've bought logs inocculated with shiitaki spores... then moved and forgot to bring my log with me! ahahahaha~
