The guy who has planted palms all over Fremont when he was a city worker? Had one of these in his yard and posted it blooming years ago. Nelson is the one who planted up the Civic Center park of dozens of various palms..Araucaria trees too. Been watching all this for over a decade now.
He moved to Davis awhile back.

I remember one large tree in Fremont. I think it was cut down, though. It was by Stevenson Blvd close to the 880 fwy.

It’s a beautiful tree which flowers in winter. It grows relatively slowly. It’s native to Queensland, Australia

I think he said it flowered after 12 years? 14?
I should email him to find out if that tree by Stevenson was his.

I know it can take a long time to flower. I did see flowers on that tree when I lived in Fremont.

I sent him a PM. He never answered and he always gets back to me. I take that as he didnt want to talk about a plant he grew, chopped down. I know the feeling.
