Ixia viridiflora var. viridiflora

Ixia viridiflora var. viridiflora

This is the actual color - kind of a Sea Foam Green or a greenish blue. It has been threatening to open, and it finally did. With all those buds, it will put on a show for a long time.

I had these years ago but they didn't survive the cold winter wet. I should have had them in a pot.

These need very free draining soil with sand added into the mix and rocks at the bottom. The corms are also reported to be short lived, so seeds need to be started every year to keep the show going.
