Another great acer! A good buy!

I must stop now! I wish supermarkets would stop selling these! Now I have to buy pots.

well that will 'learn you' as they say here.

just think of the fun you will have pot buying. Are you going for a theme for your pots?

Agree with Kate. Bloodgood will become a glorious tree - it doesn't get too big and it holds its red color all summer. I would opt for planting it in ground over a pot. A pot will shorten it's lifespan considerably.

And another, I'm envious.

I lost the one I bought some years ago. It couldn't stand our coastal winds. So disappointing.

SBG, yes I shall, when they're a little bigger.

Paul and Klahanie, thanks for the info. Helpful.

Yes, Siris, it's worse when we OH and I both like them!

Sorry to hear you lost it, Yorks. Fingers crossed, I've managed to keep all ours going in the past except one very small one. I was horrified, however, to see how many were left outside by the nursey and supermarkets in the teeth of these howling winds we've had.

I have this one too, it's lovely and about 6ft now, been in the ground a few years now, will have to post a new pic

Please do, Daylily.

This is going to be brilliant - great choice Ange 🙂. (And maybe even better in ericaceous compost?)

Sheila, I scanned your comment quickly as "even better when composted"! My brain is a weird place... I'm looking forward to (hopefully) seeing it grow.

Anget, I purchased two Acers from the supermarket this morning, therefore you are (indirectly) to blame!! A Tenner each, plus four yellow Begonias for £2, amazing prices. Not my usual place for groceries, definitely good for plants though, so many thanks for sharing the info.!

Ooo, Shirley, I'll take the blame on the chin! I hope they grow well for you.

Ha ha Anget, one is for a good friend who waters my plants when we are away. Sadly, she hasn't been able to do that for over a year as no holidays taken!

Yes, it's like time has stood still in some respects. Hopefully we shall creep back to normality in the near future, fingers crossed.

Just having a meal in a restaurant (indoors) would suffice at the moment!
