Decision in the end was to remove the Teucrium. Many thanks to Eileen for her advice.

There was a large proportion of the shrub that was dead so between us the decision was made to remove it....now the eye is taken across the steps on to the new area.There is a small bit remaining which may prosper there.The small Aliums will spread plus there are a few Anemones and Veronicas.

Julia, had the Teucrium been with you for long? I only ask as I planted a T. fruticans Azureum a few weeks ago! I recall your saying how the top part of yours had suffered over Winter.

I agree, another lovely aspect, Julia. It does look like you’ve made the right decision. Changes are often quite exciting in the garden. OH’s alliums are almost ready to open!!! Buds are purple and the stalks are quite tall...he’s quite pleased as he’s been trying to grow them for a few years!

Julia, ten years is pretty good! I'm afraid to say it's planted in the middle of a sunny border, no fence or wall for shelter.
