Hybridizer Jim Barlup . Since 1975 he was on a mission of creating an orange rhododendron. He categorized his hybrids into “good” and “everything else.”
In recent years:
Jim Barlups plants are being grown by fewer nursery vendors in the United States and have become hard to find. He has sent more than 900 cuttings to a propagating group here in Victoria,( British Columbia) so there are few around here on the island.
