River View of the Welsh/English bridge.

River View of the Welsh/English bridge.

The weather was undecided but nevertheless we decided to sit outside at the local Italian restaurant...our table overlooked the River Wye.To our surprise a seal swam by!
The bridge was originally constructed in wood in 1816...but sadly after a large boat collided into it and several deaths resulted, it was redesigned by the Waterloo bridge(London)engineer and the wood replaced with cast iron .

It really looks a lovely place to sit and enjoy a meal and a glass of something nice...I’ll bet in summertime it’s quite pretty in the warm sunshine.

I can't remember, it was many years ago. We were on our way to see the Severn Bore in Newnham.
