They suddenly arrived in the rainy gusty weather. She looked all around our garden and behind all the bushes. I wondered if she was looking for a nest site.

probably. we had ducks nest in an enclosed area where i worked. and she had to rely on one of the lab technicians to take her ducklings out side as they could fly out nor could she get food to them. But she came back for a couple of years and did the exact same thing.

There was something on the TV a while ago where a duck had raised her young on a balcony and then they were helped down to the ground in the end with the chicks.
