What an amazing creature. Wasn't Polyphemus the giant with only one eye? Will google it in a while!

Great close-up Klahanie. I don't often get to see those parts. Does he have a mouth. I heard some of them don't eat at all and don't even have a mouth.

I've looked it up and the moth has such a small mouth that it can't feed and lives for about a week. It lays its eggs in trees such as walnut, hickory and oak and the caterpillars are yellow then they moult several times and become bright green with silver spots along their sides and the they pupate into the moths. Now I've learnt something too.

Wow!!! What an amazing photo, Klahanie! Such a perfect capture and specimen of moth too.
