That's a beautiful Astilbe . . . :o)
Kate, have you tried growing them in pots? I have found it's the only way I can grow them, keep them damp and in the shade if possible.

It’s a lovely specimen, I’ve tried to grow in the past, but was unsuccessful! Love the mauve pink flowers.
