Thanks ST I was so pleased to find a new use for it. So far have found 3 slugs and 2 snails on the top tier the snails climbed the wall but wonder if the slugs had been dormant in the compost?

Denise, now that has set me wondering too, as by the hatch opening of my 'Dalek' compost bin I saw a huge green-brown slug, at full stretch, sliding its way out. Eggsat the bottom of the bin perhaps, I hope not . . . :o(

Ive read that as the slugs find a constant source of food in the compost they do not leave but I do not find this to be true ST they leave but much bigger.
