Another space cleared.

Another space cleared.

We dodged the showers and weeded and cleared over the weekend.
Gone: 'Westerland' rose planted too close to the arch, 2 hebes that were woody and loads of weeds.
Discovered: Astrantia maxima and Dicentra spectabilis which I had lost sight of in the muddle.
Now replanted and mulched (with spaces!!)

Amy, I don't need a trip to the GC, I have so much waiting in pots to be planted. Meadow is watching me beadily to make sure I don't transgress!!

Meadow, we replanted with spacing so that I can hoe round now. I ask (mentally) for your permission before I put anything in the ground!...

Granted!!!! Ha ha.

You did lots of work lately on your borders Ange. I am sure you will be rewarded next spring. Relax and enjoy. Although, I liked your stuffed to the brim borders before.

I'm sure the plants will soon join up, Klahanie, it's just I hope to keep the weediness under control more easily until they do!

Thanks, Paul. I weed and cut back, OH uses his strength to take out the heavier shrubs. Seems to work and we don't fall over each other!

Spaces mean planting opportunities … well done and good luck!

I'm glad you've got spare plants to fill spaces Anget because with Meadowland keeping a beady eye on you there's not much chance of you sneaking off to a Garden centre ... :o(

You’ve really achieved a lot, Ange..you must be pretty shattered after all the hard work of recent. I think it always feels quite therapeutic to have a garden ‘cleanse’.
I agree with Klahanie, it did look so pretty before, with your ‘filled to the brim’ beds and borders, but, I do understand your plans for the garden and the future..definitely makes sense.

I will have to purchase a drone to hover over her garden Amy,day and night!.....

Thanks, Sheila.

I'm definitely under threat here, Amy!

Yes, Kate, it's a bit like an untidy house - there's a level past which it becomes an irritant!

Meadow, I didn't realise you had 'Big Brother' tendencies - very worrying :-)

That sounds like a plan Meadowland , keep up the good work ..

Amy - I'm definitely feeling outnumbered here. Will keep watching over my shoulder...

Being very serious, I think your hard work will definitely pay off,Ang.....the Autumn will be the testing time to see if your plants are happy in their new positions. Will really look forward to seeing the transformation. I do admire your strong will in your project....

Thanks, Meadow. We have a slight problem here as the green bin is full to overflowing and the Council has cut back on collections. Not sure if it will be taken tomorrow. We shall shred a lot of it to put on the compost.

Ooh,that's going to be irritating...for the moment ours are every 2 weeks but could change...the 2 bins are also overflowing + 3 tubs !!!

Yes, collecting fortnightly is a pain. Our (brown) bin is packed to overflowing and in a day or so my gardening friend will be here to cut loads back so all the stuff may have to end up at the tip 😟.
