They grow very fast. Last week he was just a tiny thing. He's apparently eating well. He's doesn't want to leave me even though he can if he wants to. I don't know whether it's male or female.

Just out of interest I've had a look at the internet and it says that the male's antenna is longer and thicker than the females. The female eats the male after mating. She is bigger than the male and has six segments to her body where the male has eight. They can live for months. Now I've learned something today Paul....thanks.

Interesting Linda. Many people keep them as pets in a jar. That's inhumane to me. She's happy in my flower bed and can do as she pleases.
