Oh wow! That is gorgeous.

Unfortunately, highly invasive. There is a yellow one that grows everywhere.

I bet it wouldn't be invasive in our climate...we'd be lucky if it even flowered.

Actually, it would grow there. I saw some on the show "Two Fat Ladies". They went to this place that had a lot of Portuguese workers, and the owner was using the leaves of some Hedychium in the traditional Portuguese way of wrapping bread dough in them before baking.

I bet that was down south. We live north west so it might find it a tad chilly.
