Beats me how it grows here so far from the tropics. This photo sort of flattens the look of the plant into a palm like frond..but in reality its growing in a spiral and soon that should be seen clearly..next summer I think.

Thanks Kate. I'm on no hurry for it to get large. Just get some trunk,let people see the twist and spiral growth.
I have Kate the bronze form of Cabbage palm. Its a bit tall now and it seems like yesterday I bought in a little pot.

It's a lovely one, Stan. A bonus it grows in your region then!
Where my parents live in Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland, they grow palm trees, mainly the Torbay palm, or New Zealand cabbage palm. They seem to survive even in the frosty months.
