The purple flowered ones are flowering now by the side of the top pond. To the left my frog fountain. To the right in the pond Duck weed Lemna minor, useful to recover excess nutrients in a pond.

There are meadows a few miles from here which are smothered each spring. We have a few in the garden, too. Yours look perfect by the pond.

Meadows are the ideal natural place for Fritillarias unlike my fiberglass ponds which are dry around the edges, unless they overflow in a wet winter.

Lovely! I was looking at these today at the GC. They remind me of a past patient who had a lovely paddock filled with these…as well as daffs, snowdrops, tulips etc..
