Heucheras from seed.

Heucheras from seed.

I have to clear out this front garden border, but I am pleased with how these have filled out. They came from a pot-luck mix of seed. I think the dark ones aren't much different from the named varieties that you pay real money for, but then I'm not a heuchera enthusiast....

I am not a big fan of Heucheras either Anget, do not know why because they can look pretty at edge of the border.
I bought one many years ago and now have several plants from it (here an there). I myself prefer Lady's mantle (Alchemilla mollis) at the edges, but need to keep them under control.

I think I rather overplanted this little section with them, Klahanie! I hope to split the dark ones soon.

They have nice and whimsical blooms and they last for quite a bit. Mine have also dark leaves (Palace Purple Heuchera) and it is quite showy when the sun shines through them.

I have several but find that they push up from the soil over time and look raggedy. I have to replant them each spring.

I am not overly enthused, HB. I think some are very garish and others are sickly-looking. I do like the pewters and reds, though.

Klahanie if I hadn't grown them myself they probably wouldn't have found a spot in my plot!

I have reduced the number of Heucheras that I have as they grow thenselves out of the ground.

Fortunately mine haven't done that yet!
