Jacaranda Trees Flowering

These Jacaranda trees are passing peak bloom now. The Jacaranda trees start blooming here in late March or early April in San Diego, CA. Photo taken May 26, 2022.

I can’t imagine Jacaranda trees being affected by cold in the cities close to the bay. I know Dec of 1990 was the horrible exception. It’s also extremely rare to have a freeze so severe there.
I’ll have to read about Fremont. I didn’t know.

Did you see my post where I saw a large potted Alice Du Pont vine nice and dark green here for over two years now? Shocked me,I thought they were too tender.

I’ll check out the post. I had Mandevilla ‘Alice Du Pont’ growing up there for years. It had no problems with the weather. I used to have problems with lots of aphids.

They are starting here in the bay area. Its now been 30 years since we had cold enough weather to set them back. Some nice sized tree's here and there.
