Amy, I am thinking of keeping it in a pot to start with as I only read about the suckering when I looked it up at home ... :o(

That sounds like a good idea Shirley ,you can control it if it gets out of hand , having said that it's perfect if you have a huge space which needs covering ...

Amy, if only I had a huge space to cover! I asked about this on a question and Seaburngirl has kindly replied. Apparently suckers are easy enough to uproot if any appear.

I had one given to me by a neighbour and thought at first it was a type of Fuchsia. I’ve planted mine in the top garden where it can romp away. I love the yellow centre.

Hb, I'm pleased you thought it was a type of Fuchsia, as that's what I did when I first saw it! Still not sure where to plant it, must put my thinking cap on ... :o)
