This is the third woodpigeon our sparrowhawk has caught in the last couple of weeks. We saw her once mobbed by crows at the front of our house and she dropped her prey. It was quickly demolished by the pair who dined enthusiastically. I hope the hawk's babies didn't go hungry that day.

Nature is harsh, but it's all a matter of scale... We feed the birds so she knows whre to hunt! There is no shortage of woodies :-(
