Monstera taking over the yard. (Monstera deliciosa (Ceriman))

Its crawled- over the years - from near the back fence almost across my backyard. With Mexican tree fern to the right and Platycerium superbum in back on the tree trunk.

Wow!!! Loving the lush and verdant jungle feel or forest feel even…
The fronds on the tree fern - amazing. I have a couple of tree ferns from New Zealand, I love the architectural feel they bring, Stan.

Exactly. Ferns and especially tree ferns have an ancient grace to them Kate that sort of mesmerizes.

Looks great! Does your Monstera produce fruit?

Mine didn’t produce any fruit this year. It usually produces a lot of fruit every year. My plant originally came from Hayward. My friend gave me a cutting back in 1993 (when I lived in Hayward). My friend lived very close to where you live.

It has a few. Too hard to avoid the crystals even when its ripe. Besides, the possums usually get to the ones lower to the ground. These barely-very barely- survived the 1990 freeze. I was down to a few short 3" thick stems that I replanted.Soon,I'm going to have to hack these back and replant so to free the walkway in front.

The ants always get to my fruit before me. It is a little tricky eating them.

My friend’s monstera in Hayward easily survived the freeze. All the leaves were burned in the 1990 freeze, but all the stems were all good, which was a miracle considering how horrible that freeze was. His trio of King palms survived (all the fronds were fried, though), also.
