Yesterday took out a Thunbergia ‘Blushing Susan’ which has been taking over the last 2 or 3 year. These plants were just put in today. The largest Acalypha at the right end has been there for years. It just got a hard prune. Photo taken Dec. 22, 2022.

Stan,
Over the next couple weeks I’ll be adding news plants into this area. This is just the beginning of the project. By February I want this area full of plants.

The soil is good in this side yard. I moved some really good soil in around 13 or 14 years ago. Lots of horrible asparagus fern growing in there. It’s so horrible to get rid of! It’s my worst enemy in the front yard.

I was going to say it must look so very different now! Sometimes it good to have a clearing of an area outside and a rethink too. I love a new project.
I do like ferns, Andy, but if they're taking over..I guess it becomes quite frustrating when they seem to affect other plant growth.

I’m going to plant lots of flowering plants and very colorful bromeliads in this area. My friend is giving me many of his bromeliads, he’s thinning them out. They multiply like crazy!

that does look harsh but everything will bounce back no doubt.
Have a happy Christmas and I hope you do not get affected by that horrendous winter storm we have been hearing about.
