A beautiful Poppy, Wylie! It's a annual Poppy, isn't it? Lovey orange colour just like in Calendulas!

This was a surprise. I have been cleaning up around the place and lots of poppy plants have been coming up. They are all of unknown origin. I thought it may be a common one around here, but those are all single and more of a faded orange color. It should be annual, but poppies are one of those you plant once and never need to sow again.

I think that describes the poppy's habit of self-seeding everywhere! I believe their seeds can stay dormant in the soil for many years & then suddenly sprout when they are least expected!
